DTotD: Malaga’s Weligton did a dance on Cesc Fabregas’ knee

Barcelona fought off a pesky Malaga side in the Copa Del Rey quarterfinals, taking the second leg by a score of 4-2 to win 6-4 on aggregate. The second leg included eight yellow cards, but none of those eight bookings were for the moment in the second half when Malaga defender Weligton did a Riverdance on Cesc Fabregas’ knee.

Cesc slipped and fell behind Weligton, who was already on a yellow from the first half, while going after the ball when the Malaga keeper bobbled a shot from Lionel Messi. Weligton then stumbled backwards right onto Fabregas’ leg. Though it was likely just an accident, this could have also been some kind of extra cosmic payback for the dive that got Cesc booked for simulation just before halftime.

This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
