Who is David Prutton who will tip over to win the Sky Bet Championship midweek? Find out here …

Birmingham v Norwich, Tuesday 7pm – Live on Sky Sports Football Red Button

Wednesday’s sneak past Sheffield on Saturday may have eased the pressure on the under-attack Birmingham boss Aitor Karanka, but his squad is in a dangerous position just above the bottom three, especially given that Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday games in hand.

Most teams have had a slip this season and Norwich seems really overwhelmed now. The 1-0 win over Rotherham brought them three wins in a row, with only one goal conceded. This should be a relatively easy away win.

Prutton predicts: 0-3 (Sky Bet odds)

Luton v Millwall, Tuesday 7:45 p.m. – Live at Sky Sports Arena

Consecutive losses to Stoke and Cardiff last week mean Nathan Jones’ men have dropped to 16th place, their lowest league position so far this season. If they fail to score both goals, they will only have three goals from seven league games in 2021 and only eight points less than the last three.

The Hatters are currently moving in the opposite direction from Millwall, who recently slumped into the top half of the table and may have a late run for the play-offs as an underdog. They have drawn more games than anyone so far this season and I can’t see anything else here.

Rotherham v Nottingham Forest, Tuesday 7:45 p.m. – Live on Sky Sports Football

A quick look at Rotherham’s form reveals a number of recent defeats, but that alone tells a fraction of the story. Paul Warne’s men have faced three promotion candidates in their last three games at Norwich, Bournemouth and Cardiff and the fact that they have not been beaten by more than a goal says a lot. The Millers just need a stroke of luck, apparently.

Despite being one of the best teams in the division since mid-December – with only two losses in 13 since then – Forest is still in 17th place ahead of his Yorkshire trip. Last but not least, this underlines the unpredictability of this division. I support an away win in this case.

Prutton predicts: 1-2 (Sky Bet odds)

Brentford v Sheffield Wednesday, Wednesday at 7pm – Live on Sky Sports Football Red Button

Brentford manager Thomas Frank

This long unbeaten run had to come to an end for Brentford at some point, even though I hadn’t thought for a minute that three defeats would follow. They were second best all afternoon against Coventry over the weekend and need to stabilize quickly to keep up with a shot of automatic promotion.

It’s now three losses out of four for the owls, who are still right in the relegation bog. They are currently still within reach of safety but could soon be cut off if the situation does not improve. I’m going to stick my neck out here and say they’ll tie in west London.

Prutton predicts: 1-1 (Sky Bet odds)

Bournemouth v Cardiff, Wednesday 7:45 p.m. – Live on Sky Sports Football Red Button

Bournemouth’s appointment of Jonathan Woodgate as manager until the end of the season should add some stability to the end-of-season end-of-season which is badly needed for the cherries after the last two months. You are really in danger of getting out of the top 6.

That makes this game all the more important as Cardiff is only three points behind them ahead of this game. Mick McCarthy’s men won all five league games in February and he remains undefeated as Bluebirds boss. That’s why I’m on your side.

Prutton predicts: 0-2 (Sky Bet odds)

Preston vs QPR, Wednesday at 7.45pm – Live on Sky Sports Football

I mentioned earlier that Preston lacks consistency and that doesn’t look like it’s going to change anytime soon. The heavy loss to Cardiff at the weekend left them well behind the top six and undoubtedly dealt a blow to morale.

I have to congratulate Mark Warburton on the way he has brought QPR back to the winners. The Rangers currently have four straight wins for the first time since August through September 2019 and I think they will make it five times here, which they haven’t done since October 2004.

Prutton predicts: 1-2 (Sky Bet odds)
