Arsenal travel to Premier League freshman Brentford on the opening day of the Premier League season as the Gunners scramble to get out of the gates quickly and look for a third straight triumph.

Mikel Arteta’s side could have some new faces in the ranks on August 13, with the Arsenal manager less than afraid to throw his newcomers into the line of fire.

The Gunners will name Brentford’s new £ 71m stadium with Premier League football for the first time, as Arteta will christen the field with new signings and scores of goals.

The Spaniard led his first encounter as Gunners boss last season and led Arsenal to a 3-0 win over Fulham.

While working on the blueprint for Arteta’s philosophy, the 39-year-old coach made his debut with the Brazilian duo Gabriel Magalhaes and Willian.

The pair flourished when the former Lille defender scored his first goal for the club while former Chelsea winger Willian assisted twice, making Gunners fans confident ahead of the season ahead – though it would ultimately be a season which ended in disappointment.

This summer’s newcomers will be trying to go in the same direction as targets Ben White and Albert Sambi Lokonga, who top Edu’s shopping list, among others.

With that in mind, there are three ways Arteta could line up on the opening day of the 2021/22 Premier League season.

4-2-3-1

Houssem Aouar has once again piqued Arteta’s interest, less than 12 months since the 22-year-old midfielder first appeared on the Gunners’ radar, which could mark the Frenchman’s path to number ten in 4-2-3-1.

With several key names getting closer to a move from the Emirates, the Arsenal boss is desperate to bolster his options at the heart of the pitch.

Lyon reportedly would only offer £ 55million deals last summer, which led the Gunners to consider the Frenchman’s imminent arrival insignificant – instead signing midfielder Thomas Partey for £ 45million from Atletico Madrid.

A year later and Edu is now trying to inject a fresh and exciting creative spark into Arteta’s site, as the Sun claims the Gunners could win Aouars services for just £ 20 million.

Should the Lyon midfielder be available for Arteta against Brentford on August 13, he could start as number ten in front of a midfield pairing of Partey and up-and-coming Miralem Pjanic.

How Arsenal could compete on the opening day of the Premier League season

According to the Spanish outlet SPORT (via Sport Witness), Pjanic is subject to a loan offer from Arsenal and overtakes London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea for the Bosnian’s signature. Add that loan to Aouar’s £ 20m fee and White for £ 50m and Arteta could have a dream lineup of £ 70m summer spending.

4-2-3-1: turner; Chambers, Holding, White, Tierney; Partey, Pjanic; Saka, Aouar, Aubameyang; Lacazette.

3-4-2-1

In addition to potential new signings from Aouar and Pjanic, Arsenal have also been linked with Brighton’s midfielder Yves Bissouma, the Express reports, which may give the Lyon midfielder a free role as a center forward should he join.

football.london are aware that Anderlecht midfielder Sambi Lokonga made personal arrangements with the Gunners before moving to north London. Despite the talent of the Belgian U21s, it is unlikely that we will become a mainstay right away.

With several potential midfield options floating around, this could allow Arteta to switch to a three-point back to accommodate his signings. However, there is a risk that he will try to fit a square pin into a round hole.

Arsenal are hoping to finalize Benfica’s £ 8.5million signing of Nuno Tavares in the coming days following his most recent flight to London, the Express reports.

This would allow Tierney to fill the back three while Tavares can take on the role of left full-back, with Saka on the other side.

3-4-2-1: lathe operator; White, Gabriel Magalhaes, Tierney; Saka, Partey, Bissouma, Tavares; Smith Rowe, Aouar; Aubameyang.

The Premier League fans were welcomed back across the country towards the end of last season and the hope is eternal that the 2021/22 season will run smoothly.

4-3-3

White sees the arrival in the Emirates getting closer and closer, despite a deal that has not yet been agreed between the two sides.

However, as the Express reported, Arsenal will face stiff competition in the form of Chelsea and Manchester City should the Gunners sign the 23-year-old English center-back.

Should Tavares and White arrive in north London, Arteta will likely start in a back four alongside Gabriel if he returns from injury, but will reaffirm his trust in Tierney as a left-back.

Right-back Tyler Adams has also been linked to the club due to the uncertainty about the future of Hector Bellerin and could jump right in on a commitment, with a Partey Lokonga axis in a midfield three that would also include Aouar’s dream signing. A front three from Saka, Nicolas Pepe and Aubameyang would also get the Gunners fans out of their seats.

4-3-3: leno; Adams, Gabriel, White, Tierney; Partey, Smith Rowe, Aouar; Saka, Aubameyang, Pepe.
