The new 2021/22 season is just around the corner.

And Chelsea have yet to make his move in the summer transfer window.

There is a lot of hype about Thomas Tuchel’s team ahead of the new season after the Blues won the Champions League last season by defeating Manchester City.

And there’s a real feeling they could be City’s closest challenger for the Premier League crown when the new season kicks off in two weeks’ time.

But the blues fans are hoping to add some new names to their squad to keep them stronger before the big kick-off.

Here we take a look at five names they could sign before they kick off the season on August 14 against London rivals Crystal Palace.

Erling Haaland

In this transfer window, the Blues have so far been closely linked to Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland. Thomas Tuchel is determined to bring a high-shot striker to Stamford Bridge ahead of the new season and Haaland is the German’s main target.

However, Dortmund does not want to let go of one of their best new signings after such an impressive time at the club. Chelsea could raise up to £ 112m to seal the deal, which would be a huge letter of intent.

Saúl Ñíguez

Saúl Ñíguez could also be considered for West London. It was reported that Thomas Tuchel showed particular interest in the 26-year-old and the Blues were in contact with his entourage.

Ñíguez is set to leave Atletico Madrid this summer and Chelsea are keen to be at the front of the line for the midfielder. The midfielder is incredibly versatile and adaptable, which could come in handy at Tuchel’s Chelsea. Ñíguez’s quick acceleration, strong build, and physical presence are among his noticeable features.

Declan rice

It has been reported that the Blues have been investigating Declan Rice’s possible move to Chelsea since last summer’s transfer window and Thomas Tuchel is particularly keen to sign the 22-year-old which would improve his options in midfield.

Chelsea want to offer Rice around £ 60 to 70 million, but West Ham does not want to let go of the Euro 2020 finalists. However, the deal might be too good for London rivals to turn down. While West Ham isn’t thrilled, the Blues won’t be afraid to bid the youngster. The combative and tough player would be a good alternative in midfield for Tuchel.

Miralem Pjanic

Chelsea are considering a possible loan offer for Miralem Pjanić from Barcelona. The 31-year-old struggled at Barcelona after being there 12 months after signing Juventus. Thomas Tuchel could see this as a possible loan move despite the midfielder’s unsuccessful run at the Spanish giant. Pjanić could offer additional support and cover in midfield as a backup for the Blues.

Niklas Süle

Thomas Tuchel is keen to strengthen his defenses ahead of the new season and Niklas Süle could be the man to help with that. The 25-year-old has been closely linked with Chelsea and talks between Bayern Munich and Chelsea are reported to be ongoing.

Sule made a total of 16 starts in the Bundesliga last season, but his coach seemed unimpressed by his fitness for the new 2021/22 season.

Chelsea fans will hope to see some of these signings as there has been no exciting transfer activity since the summer transfer window opened. After a successful Champions League win last season, Blues fans are hoping to see some new faces on the season’s opening day when the West Londoners face Crystal Palace at home.
