The Alabama state soccer team will face Southern University in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game on Friday, February 26th.

Southern defeated ASU 24-21 in the fourth quarter.

This is the season opener for both programs in 2021.

In 2019, Southern University went 8-5 overall and 6-1 in SWAC. The Alabama State Hornets finished 2019 5-6 and 4-3 in SWAC.

Alabama State running back Jacory Merritt ran 1 yard for a 15 second touchdown in the third quarter. It put ASU 21-14 against Southern University.

ASU Hornets quarterback Ryan Nettles threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to receiver Michael Jefferson with 8:21 in the third quarter. After Hanson’s extra point, the game ended between 14 and 14.

Ryan Nettles, Alabama quarterback, threw Jeremiah Hixon a 32-yard touchdown pass with 1:08 in the second quarter. With Hunter Hanson’s extra point, the game ended 7: 7.
