Arsenal aim to start the 2021/22 season on Saturday afternoon as they host Norwich City.

The Gunners are pointless after the first three games of the campaign after losing to Brentford, Chelsea and Manchester City and are at the bottom of the Premier League table.

Mikel Arteta has come under increasing pressure from the Arsenal fan base after the bad start to the season and Saturday has become a must for the Gunners boss.

Arteta has some important decisions to make ahead of the game at the Emirates Stadium and after a long summer two players are waiting to make their Premier League debuts.

Takehiro Tomiyasu, who joined Arsenal on the day of the transfer deadline, could make his debut for his new club against the Canaries.

The Japanese defender could replace Cedric Soares, who played there in the 5-0 defeat by Manchester City before the international break, directly as a right-winger.

Arteta spoke about Tomiyasu’s versatility and how important it could be for the North Londoners on his recent signing.

“We followed him for a while,” Arteta told Arsenal Media. “We needed a full-back who can be very versatile, can play as a center-back, can play in a back three, Tomi has that capacity.

“He is 22 years old but he has some really good experiences in Serie A and internationally and with the qualities we are looking for.”

Another new signing who could make his Premier League debut is Aaron Ramsdale.

The English goalkeeper has been signed by Arsenal as a long-term replacement for Bernd Leno, who was recently heavily linked with a move from the Emirates.

But after the start of Arsenal, where they conceded nine goals in three games, Ramsdale could be called up by Arteta.

The 23-year-old made his Gunners debut last month and impressed with a comfortable Carabao Cup win over West Bromwich Albion but is still in the top division.

The two newcomers Ben White and Martin Odegaard could play against Norwich after the two-week international break.

White has been absent for the past few weeks after testing positive for Covid-19 while Odegaard could start his second Premier League game in a row after playing against Manchester City a few weeks ago.

There are many decisions for Arteta to make but no matter what Arsenal do, they will be big favorites against Norwich.
