Birmingham City has started pre-season preparations as Lee Bowyers Blues look forward to the 2021/22 championship season.

Blues finished 18th in the championship last season and enjoyed a good run of form to resolve relegation problems after Bowyer’s appointment in March.

It took Bowyer six weeks to record as many wins as the club under Aitor Karanka were twice as successful during that time.

Those five wins against Reading, Swansea, Stoke, Rotherham and Derby under the new head coach proved the difference for a blues side looking to be on the verge of steaming next season.

Pre-season is an important time for Bowyer to further anchor his philosophy in his squad after joining the club in the middle of the last championship season.
