Bournemouth are keen to sign Kelechi Nwakali despite having to battle for the midfielder in the Premier League.

The 23-year-old Nigerian is currently under contract with Huesca, who has just been relegated from La Liga, but spent most of the previous season on loan in the second division with Alcorcon.

His performances during this period were clearly eye-catching, with the Telegraph revealing that Nwakali is on the Cherries’ radar as Scott Parkers seeks to join the roster after his appointment.

However, a deal for the attacking midfielder won’t be easy as Huesca are determined to pay a £ 15m fee for the talent.

They also state that Watford has shown an interest in Nwakali and the lure of elite football could give the subject an edge when it comes to the two clubs.

If Nwakali moves to either side, it will not be his first life experience in England as he spent a number of years at Arsenal as a youth.

The judgment

This would be an explanation for Bournemouth if they could make it, as they would have seen a Premier League club and paid a heavy fee for Nwakali if he signed.

It is clearly an area of the field of play that Parker needs to strengthen and fans are encouraged when it is given serious support in the market.

Whether or not Nwakali is worth such a fee can be debated as it is unproven at the highest level, but the support has to be trusted by the scouts and management during this crucial summer period.
