Brighton is in talks with Celtic about the possible signing of Odsonne Edouard, Football Insider reports.
What is the latest transfer news from Odsonne Edouard?
The report says the clubs are discussing a possible transfer and Brighton is keen to get a deal done before the Premier League season begins.
Accordingly, the South Coast Club is “hopeful” of closing a deal for the former PSG man in the next 10 days.
The Seagulls begin their league season with a trip to Burnley on Aug. 14, and it seems they’d like Edouard on their roster by then.

Does this timeline fit Celtic too?
The schedule could fit Celtic as if they were selling Edouard in the next 10 days. This gives the club additional time to find a replacement in the transfer window.
On the flip side, if the player goes towards the end of the window, Celtic could perhaps make more money off clubs that are desperate to sign a striker and get caught up in a bidding war.
There doesn’t seem to be any official offers for the striker at the moment, but that could change as we get closer to the end of the August 31 transfer window.
How has Edouard done so far this season?
Edouard has not been at his best for Celtic this season. Ange Postecoglou picked him for all three competitive games and he didn’t even manage to find the network.
He was guilty of missing a big chance against Midtjylland in the Champions League qualifying first leg. With the 1-0 for the Hoops he could not end a one-on-one chance and shortly afterwards the Danish team equalized.
Despite this defeat, Postecoglou put their trust in the striker and started both the second leg against Midtjylland and the most recent league game against Hearts. Unfortunately for the player and his manager, Celtic did not win any of these games and Edouard did not score a goal.
Will Celtic have to find a replacement for Edouard?
If Edouard leaves Celtic in the next 10 days, the club will have to sign a replacement. Even if he did not start this season in his best form, Edouard is a very good goalscorer on his day – currently the best that Celtic has in the squad.
The 23-year-old scored 22 goals last season. The other strikers in the Hoops squad did not come close to this sum at the moment. Albian Ajeti scored six goals while Leigh Griffiths contributed seven goals.
Edouard’s goal record will be the main reason Postecoglou believes in him. If Edouard leaves, these gates will have to be replaced.
