Edouard Mendy helped Chelsea keep clean sheets against Zenit and should start Matchday 2 if he recovers from a rib injury, while budget-conscious Wolfsburg Koen should consider Casteels. The German team that takes on Sevilla currently has the best defensive record in the Bundesliga and kept Group G opponents LOSC Lille in check in the opening game.

Joshua Kimmich scored a modest five # UCLfantasy points on matchday one, but since the algorithm takes into account both past European performances and national form, the Bayern man is likely to do even better against Dynamo Kyiv. Kimmich scored two goals in a Bundesliga game recently, underscoring his sizable offensive threat and the owners will be confident that he will move that form to the UEFA Champions League.

With Thomas Meunier and Raphaël Guerreiro, Bundesliga club Dortmund have two attractive # UCLfantasy defensive assets, both of which made an offensive contribution in the league game after their win on matchday one in Beşiktaş against Union Berlin.

Paris full-back Achraf Hakimi is another option known for his offensive potential, having scored three goals and two assists in all competitions for his new club this season, including a game-winning double against Metz on September 22. At 2.0 million euros cheaper, compatriot Noussair Mazraoui could be the right choice. After a template on the first day of the game, the full-back scored a goal in consecutive Eredivisie games and was able to achieve further successes in an offensive Ajax team.

Jude Bellingham played a lead role for Dortmund on Matchday 1, a goal and assist helped ensure that he was named Player of the Game and earned three extra # UCLfantasy points. The Englishman leads the predictions for the 2nd matchday, although the most successful midfielder to date is Christopher Nkunku, who was the first Leipzig to score a hat trick in the UEFA Champions League on matchday 1, although he was only the fourth player in the Contest history Scored three goals in a losing cause.

The three most expensive midfielders in #UCLfantasy – all Premier League players – are included in the projections. Mohamed Salah, Bruno Fernandes and Kevin De Bruyne each got a slightly below average five points last time, but their consistency keeps them in the bill for the second matchday. The owners of the cheapest midfielder on this list, Jorginho, are hoping Chelsea get a penalty at Juventus.

It’s largely a list of familiar faces when it comes to the best strikers, with many of Europe’s leading strikers hitting the net in their respective club’s opening games. Robert Lewandowski, Erling Haaland and Cristiano Ronaldo are ready to go and have home games on the 2nd matchday.

Sébastien Haller is a new name in the list after his sensational performance against Sporting CP, which earned the Ajax striker a matchday high of 21 points. Team-mate Dušan Tadić, meanwhile, will be looking to make it through the competition after recently being among the goals in the Eredivisie.

Karim Adeyemi had an eventful first matchday after shooting three penalties in Salzburg’s 1-1 draw against Sevilla. Although he missed the one-spot kick he took himself, his overall performance earned him the Player of the Game award and he represents excellent pre-matchday value for the Austrian team against LOSC Lille.
