Ronaldo ‘approves transfer’ with Man City ahead of Premier League return
Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Manchester City ahead of a transfer and long-awaited Premier League return.
Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes flew to Turin this Thursday to secure his client’s exit at Juventus and, according to multiple sources, he is now ready to join the Citizens after speaking with manager Pep Guardiola.
Ronaldo kicked off the transfer rumor mill on Sunday when he applied to be excluded from Juventus’ starting XI in the Serie A kick-off with Udinese.
Juventus vice chairman Pavel Nedved downplayed speculation that this meant Ronaldo wanted to leave, but reports later surfaced in Italy that the 36-year-old had informed his teammates he wanted to join Man City.

Ronaldo’s agent Mendes traveled to Turin on Thursday to speak to his client and the meeting with Juventus was reportedly tense.
Manchester City haven’t made a formal offer to Ronaldo yet, but the player and club are said to have trembled over a deal.
Man City are looking for ways to avoid paying a transfer fee for Ronaldo, who is said to be earning more than £ 500,000 a week at Etihad.
The Citizens reportedly offered Raheem Sterling in an exchange deal with Juventus, but the Serie A giants turned down signing the England international.

Juventus would rather swap Ronaldo with Gabriel Jesus, with Max Allegri said to be a huge fan of the Brazilian, but Guardiola is reluctant to part with the striker.
Juventus is aiming for a transfer fee of around £ 25 million for the 36-year-old.
Man City had made signing Tottenham striker Harry Kane a priority earlier this summer, but £ 150m was listed for signing the England international.
Manchester City offered Spurs £ 75m plus £ 25m in add-ons, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy turned down the offer.

When the transfer window was running out of time, Kane tweeted on Wednesday, “It was amazing to see the Spurs fans welcome on Sunday and read some of the messages of support I’ve received over the past few weeks.
“I will stay at Tottenham this summer and focus 100 percent on making the team a success.”
Ronaldo’s proposed transfer will come as a shock to Man United fans who were hoping the Red Devils would bring the Portugal international home.

Ronaldo was asked in 2015 – six years after leaving Man United – if he could one day join Red Devils rival Man City, downplaying a transfer that would ever take place.
“Do you think money will change my mind by the age of 30? I don’t think that’s going to be a problem,” said Ronaldo.
“If you are talking about the money I could go to Qatar, you would probably have more money than Manchester City. It’s not about the money, it’s about the passion.”
