The Clarets have played three away games against EFL opponents as part of their pre-season schedule.

Sean Dyche’s men will start in the second division at Oldham Athletic before facing championship opponents in the form of newly promoted Blackpool and Nottingham Forest.

The Clarets – who return for pre-season training starting next Thursday – will play simultaneous practice matches against teams from leagues one and two before their first public practice session.

And the club will confirm two more preseason games ahead of the Premier League opener against Brighton at Turf Moor on Saturday August 14th in due course.

Both domestic and foreign opposition are scrutinized, depending on the respective government protocols.

Ticket and coverage details for the scheduled away games will also be confirmed at a later date in accordance with government guidelines.

The trip to Oldham, who finished 18th in the second division under former England international Keith Curle last season, means a return to his first club for Clarets’ defender James Tarkowski.

After taking on the Latics, Burnley heads to Bloomfield Road for a midweek game against a Blackpool side who won promotion in League One play-offs in manager Neil Critchley’s first full season.

Dyche and his team from the back room will then return to the former Club Forest on Saturday, July 31st, to face the double European champions at the City Ground.
