The EFL season only recently ended, but attention is quickly turning to the 2021/22 campaign.
The Bolton Wanderers have returned to League One after winning automatic promotion from League Two last month.
They are supported in the division by Cheltenham Town and Cambridge United as well as Morecambe after the Shrimps’ success against Newport County in the play-off final.
League One promises to be an intriguing watch from early August, with Wanderers being one of several big names in the division that includes Sheffield Wednesday, Portsmouth, Sunderland, Ipswich Town and Wigan Athletic.

When does the League One season 2021/22 start?
The League One season 2021/22 starts on Saturday, August 7th.
To kick off the new campaign, there could be a televised game on Friday, August 6th.
The last matchday of the 2021/22 season in League One will be played over the weekend of April 30, 2022.
When are the play-off finals?
Championship Play-Off Final – Sunday 29 May 2022
League One Play-Off Final – Saturday, May 21, 2022
League Two Play-off Final – Saturday May 28, 2022
When will the League One 2021/22 games be announced?
The EFL will publish fixtures for all three divisions on Thursday, June 24th at 9 a.m.
When does the summer transfer window open and close?
The window opens on Wednesday, June 9th and runs for 12 weeks.
The closing day for transfers is Tuesday, August 31, after the start of the season, the window is closed at 11 p.m.
The window is in line with other European leagues.
