Celtic battle for Liam Scales after English Premier League clubs join in the hunt for the defender.

Scales is under contract until the end of 2022 and Shamrock Rovers boss Bradley said today: “I know there is a lot of interest and has been for a long time.

“The English Premier League and Scotland are very interested. We let a number of managers ring the bell. “

When asked if these clubs responded to their interest, Bradley said, “Yes. Bids have been submitted.

“The board trusted our judgment in signing players for longer deals and that means you can take a stand as teams join.”

Bradley, however, is confident that Scales – who was on the verge of joining Bristol Rovers before joining Rovers early last season – will stay focused in the meantime.

He said, “We’ve never had any problems with Liam and he’s really calm and easy going and thinking about things.

“He makes clear decisions and has good people around him. With Liam, it’s pretty easy and there is no administration.

“We have to weigh up all options and paths and first work out the best for the club.

“It is also very important to be open and honest with the player and his representatives and to make the best decision for everyone.”
