Liverpool are keen to sign Leeds winger Raphinha, according to The Mirror.

The Brazilian star has drawn the attention of the Premier League champions in recent months after putting in a string of impressive performances since the turn of the year.

He posted six Premier League goals in 2021, helping Leeds move 12 points ahead of the relegation zone in midfield.

This has led to speculation that he might leave Elland Road after just a single season at the club.

However, that seems unlikely following a report indicating that Leeds will not have to sell its key players this summer as they are currently in a financially stable position.

Still, the temptation to play for Jurgen Klopp’s side could lure Raphinha to Anfield if the Reds decide to make a move in the transfer window.

Sam Brookes from GIVEMESPORT says …

Raphinha seems to have gotten better and better over the course of the season – he has now made at least one goal contribution in five of his last seven top games. Would he be able to get into Liverpool’s top three?

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have been the mainstays in Liverpool’s starting grid for the past few years. However, this time they haven’t reached the level of the previous terms.

Firmino has only scored six league goals this season and has shown little confidence in recent weeks. He only managed to find the network once in 2021.

Mane wasn’t doing much better. His seven league goals in total are a disappointing return as he has scored 40 goals in the two previous campaigns.

The formidable trio shouldn’t be written off just yet, but it would help the side have more attack opportunities. Diogo Jota showed he could score by scoring a Champions League hat trick against Atalanta in November before sustaining an injury the following month.

By adding Raphinha to their ranks, this would increase competition for spots in Liverpool and allow Klopp to switch his squad regularly over the next season to keep his attacking ability as fresh as possible.
