The Premier League season in Liverpool is now about getting into the top four.

The Reds have lost five home games in a row and dropped to seventh place after losing 1-0 to Chelsea at Anfield on Thursday night.

Jürgen Klopp’s team is four points behind the Londoners in fourth place with 43 points and faces a real challenge just to guarantee Champions League football for the next season.

Everton are three points better off in fifth place – and have a game against their rivals – as is West Ham with 45 points and Tottenham, one point behind in eighth place.

The Premier League title race is almost over, with Manchester City 14 points ahead of runner-up Manchester United, but the battle for the top four is getting hotter.

Liverpool matches

The Reds have a competitive game against relegation-threatened Fulham on Sunday before tricky trips to Wolves and Arsenal.

Klopp’s side have a friendly end to the season though: Southampton, West Brom, Burnley and Palace follow one another throughout May.

United remain in second place despite an uninspiring form. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side face rivals City in the Manchester derby this weekend and still have many difficult games ahead of their top four opponents.

Leicester City Games

The Foxes are struggling with injuries at the moment, with Harvey Barnes being the last to join the walking wounded who include James Maddison, Dennis Praet, Ayoze Perez, James Justin and Jonny Evans.

Brendan Rodgers’ squad will be tested during the run-in but currently has the advantage of a seven-point cushion against Liverpool.

Chelsea are currently the form team in the top four races after giving Anfield an impressive 1-0 win.

Thomas Tuchel hasn’t lost a game for Chelsea since replacing Frank Lampard. He has seven wins and three draws and only conceded two goals in ten games.

May seems like a real challenge for Chelsea.
