RAPHAEL VARANE is reportedly considering his future at Real Madrid amid rumors of a move to Manchester United.

The Red Devils are looking to bolster their defenses this summer by winning a big name for Harry Maguire.

Kalidou Koulibaly and Jules Kounde are just two of several names associated with the club, but Varane is considered the number one destination.

And reports from Spain suggest the French are keen on a summer transfer.

Madrid-based daily AS detail Varane is increasingly preferring to try a new league.

At the age of 27, the center-back has played in LaLiga for almost a decade of his career and is at a crossroads in his career.

His contract expires in 2022 and Madrid will do everything in their power to prevent him from leaving for a free transfer.

If he confirms to Los Blancos that he does not want to sign a new deal, they will be open to offers at the end of the season.

Real reportedly want Varane to stay, but he should be aware that agreeing a new deal in Spain will significantly reduce his chances of receiving honors in multiple countries.

The World Cup winner has an enviable trophy cabinet with four Champions League crowns and three LaLiga titles.

Should he leave, Madrid should consider David Alaba, Pau Torres and Sevillas Kounde as replacements.

Although the club is already making plans in the event that club captain Sergio Ramos leaves after his contract expires in the summer.

United could compete with Real for Torres and Kounde as both have been linked.

However, the chances of several large cash acquisitions coming to Manchester have been suppressed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

All clubs in the world have the same situation, so it is no different for other clubs than it is for us.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

The United boss said earlier this month that the coronavirus pandemic will continue to affect his team’s business this summer.

Solskjaer said: “With all these changes, there will be fewer transfers in the world of football.

“The pandemic definitely affects everyone in football, the lack of finance, it affects everyone.

“All clubs in the world are in the same situation, so it is no different for other clubs than it is for us.”
