Borussia Mönchengladbach’s head coach Marco Rose will move to Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.
Mönchengladbach announced Rose’s departure on Monday, although Dortmund has not yet confirmed his appointment. Rose’s role at Dortmund has not been clarified but he is expected to be named the club’s new head coach.
Edin Terzic was appointed interim head of Dortmund in December after Lucien Favre was fired.
“We have had a lot of talks over the past few weeks to discuss Marco’s future,” said Mönchengladbach’s sports director Max Eberl.
“Unfortunately he decided to trigger a clause in his contract and leave this summer.
“Until then we will work hard to achieve our goals in the league, in the cup and in Europe together.”
The two teams are currently level on points in the Bundesliga, with Dortmund taking sixth place due to a superior goal difference.
Rose will face Dortmund in the DFB Cup quarter-finals on March 2nd in two weeks.
