All of this year’s Munster SHC games will take place in neutral locations after the games have been approved by the provincial authority.

Waterford and Clare will open the competition on June 27th at Semple Stadium. The winners will meet Tipperary in the semi-finals the following weekend. This game will be played either on the Páirc Uí Chaoimh or on the LIT Gaelic Grounds, depending on who gets through the quarter-finals.

The other semi-final between the champions Limerick and Cork from Liga, Münster and All-Ireland will also take place this weekend at Semple Stadium. There is a two-week break until the final.

The opposite is true in football, where the counties maintain their longstanding home and away rules. In addition, teams beaten in provincial football competitions will be excluded from the championship, while being thrown through a qualification system will give them a second chance.

Kerry and Limerick will be at home in the quarterfinals against Clare and Waterford on Saturday June 26th, which means Kerry cannot fully hold onto the league as the GAA decided the title will be split in the final falling a week before the start of the championship of a district, with the league final on the weekend of 19./20. June will take place.

The semi-finals will be played seven days after the quarter-finals. Should Kerry prevail against Clare, they will have to travel to Semple Stadium to face Tipperary. Cork will enjoy home advantage when Waterford are their opponents but face Limerick.

The final has been set for Sunday 25th July and gives the provincial representatives a two-week break for the semi-finals across Ireland.
