Nigeria have confirmed that Alex Iwobi will face Lesotho today after testing negative coronavirus.
Everton winger Iwobi reportedly tested positive after joining the Super Eagles for international engagement and missed out on beating Benin in qualifying for the African Nations Cup at the weekend.
A statement from Nigeria said: “Update: Nigerian striker Alex Iwobi took a negative test after further COVID-19 tests.”
Another release added, “Update: Confederation of African Football releases Alex Iwobi to play tonight’s game against Lesotho.”
Nigeria has already qualified for the African Cup of Nations in 2021 and leads its group ahead of Benin, Sierra Leone and Lesotho.

The next edition of the competition will take place in January 2022.
Iwobi has made 31 appearances for Everton under Carlo Ancelotti this season, scoring two goals.
The 24-year-old has made 44 appearances for Nigeria.
