iverpool will look to get their new season off to a good start when they travel to Premier League fighters Norwich in the Carabao Cup tonight.
The Canary Islands have lost five of five in the league so far, only to land at the bottom of the season so far after their promotion from the championship.
Liverpool, on the other hand, have made an excellent start, unbeaten in their first five games and are at the top of the Premier League with Chelsea. Both teams share identical records.
Given their successes in the Premier League and in Europe under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool have been strangely bad in national cup competitions in recent years, their last success coming in 2012 in that competition.

Team news Norwich vs. Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp has turned his side a lot over the last two Liverpool games and will likely give more opportunities for fringe players here, which means the potential for more minutes for players like Divock Origi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Summer newcomer Ibrahima Konate could get another spot, while Nat Phillips – who played a key role in the middle of last season’s defensive injury crisis but slipped way down the pecking order with the return of players – will also be keen to join .
Harvey Elliott and Roberto Firmino will remain outside while Thiago Alcantara is unlikely to be in it after limping against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
