Patrick Bamford, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jesse Lingard have been called up by England coach Gareth Southgate to qualify for the World Cup next month.

The trio all missed Euro 2020 when England reached the final of the competition and lost to Italy on penalties at Wembley in July but will be available for upcoming games against Hungary, Andorra and Poland.

Chelsea’s left-back Ben Chilwell is missing from the squad after being unused in the first two games of the new season. He didn’t play a single minute for England at Euro 2020.

Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood, who scored two goals in his first two league games this season, is another notable absentee on the Southgate squad after an impressive start to the season.

Southgate has named an expanded roster of 25 players to provide extra protection in the event of coronavirus cases or potential injury this weekend.

England’s 25-man squad complete

Goalkeepers: Sam Johnstone, Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope

Midfilders: Jude Bellingham, Jordan Henderson, Jesse Lingard, Mason Mount, Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice
