CalcioMercato has announced that Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez, who is rumored to be on Tottenham’s radar, could be on the market during the January transfer window.

Nandez has had two solid campaigns for Cagliari since joining Italian football from his native Argentina in the summer of 2019.

The midfielder has been heavily linked to a Spurs move during the summer transfer window, with the Uruguayan international reportedly being known had made a transfer request and really wanted to finish a move to north London.

However, the transfer did not materialize there Sources that suggest that Tottenham went out of business because Cagliari’s offer price of 30 million euros (£ 25.7 million) was too high.

It remains to be seen whether the Lilywhites will rekindle their interest in Nandez when the transfer window reopens in January.

CalcioMercato has now announced that the 25-year-old will be on sale in January after failing to seal the move from Cagliari in the summer.

The report adds that the midfielder is interested from the Premier League but does not specify which clubs have the player in mind.

Spurs web opinion

I expect Paratici to prioritize strengthening central midfield during the January transfer window. However, I am not convinced that Nandez would be an upgrade from what we have.

If we want to close the gap to the top 4, we need a newcomer of the Neves / Bissouma / Kessie type who would immediately improve our starting XI.
