Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that he is “following” Norwegian and Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland’s progress.

The 20-year-old was closely linked to a move to Old Trafford and rivals Manchester City and Real Madrid. The youngster previously worked with Solskjaer while at Molde.

United are said to be interested in a striker, and the Red Devils boss has praised the Dortmund man and stated that he will have a “fantastic” career for the club and the country.

“Erling will have a fantastic career. I follow Erling. I’ve always said that. Was it 18 months we had together or something? Almost two years maybe. A wonderful time. He will definitely have a great career for both Norway and his club, “Solskjaer told the Norwegian outlet VG.

“He’s doing incredibly well for Dortmund so we’ll see where he ends up. As a Norwegian and someone who’s worked with him, it’s obviously fun that he does so well.”

“We’ll do what we can to become a better team, then he’ll do what he can to become a better player. Where does he end up? I don’t want to say anything else, I wish him well. Which choice.” he hits, may be because of him. “

Haaland, who has a release clause worth around £ 68million that will be active in the summer of 2022, has scored 22 goals and provided six assists in just 22 appearances in all of the campaign’s competitions to date.

Arsenal are reportedly on the verge of finalizing the signing of Sporting Lisbon striker Tiago Tomas on a deal worth around £ 20m.

The 18-year-old has broken with the Portuguese giants in the first team this season and has played regularly for a team that is currently undefeated and at the top of the Primeira Liga.

According to The Sun, sporting director Edu was in direct contact with Sportings football director Hugo Viana to sign Tomas while tracking down the striker during his game against Benfica, which the Gunners are due to face next Thursday in the Europa League.

The teen just recently signed a new contract in June 2020 that included a £ 52 million release clause.

However, given the current financial climate and Sporting’s spending over the past few years, it is believed the Portuguese club could accept a deal as low as £ 20m.

Edu has also stated to the Arsenal hierarchy that he believes the club would regret missing out on such a talented player in Tomas after former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was close to Cristiano before joining Manchester United Signing Ronaldo from Sporting.

Tomas has played 25 games in all competitions so far in this campaign, scored five goals and provided three assists.
