It’s the kind of weekend you just wish we fans got to play in games. The Manchester Derby, Madrid Derby and even the Classic all feel a bit hollow without the crowd getting crowded.
All four Premier League games are difficult to name as Arsenal is 3/5 the shortest price to win at Burnley, but you still wouldn’t fully trust the Gunners with odds like this, especially with a noon kick-off.
Aston Villa just doesn’t look like the same team without Jack Grealish and doesn’t have much of a draw at home for Wolves who lost 4-1 to Man City in the past few weeks.
Good luck trying to determine a winner between Sheff Utd and Southampton. The blades have made your eyes bleed at times this season and the Saints need to stop their slide quickly.
On the evening of the opening night, Leicester will be missing up to seven players for their trip to Brighton, whose achievements deserve more than the points they have accumulated lately.
Tips from Saturday
In the league 1 Sunderland should prevail against Rochdale who looks like they are in final decline. The Mackems charge a promotion fee and Charlie Wyke is currently one of the hottest properties in the division with 19 goals and the highest goals-per-minute ratio in League 1. He can fire them on the three points and at least a few Aims.
Two of the form-strong teams in League 2 meet in the Pirelli Stadium, where Burton Albion host Peterborough and we should see goals. Posh has scored two or more in six of the last seven goals and while the Brewers have been aggravating the situation lately, they are among the worst defensive records in the division at 55-30.
In scotland Rangers could pack the title if they win and Celtic fail at Dundee United on Sunday. The Gers have been relentless this season and remain undefeated in the league. While they haven’t been at their best lately, they have achieved the results largely thanks to their excellent defensive record. 22 of the 27 wins of the season came out to zero, so it’s a surprise they still have money to repeat the trick against a St. Mirren side who have only scored three goals in their last six games.
There should be goals at Tyncastle in the championship. Hearts have worked recently and only scored a single goal in each of their last five games, however Dundee’s Defense “couldn’t keep weaning at close range”. They’ve only conceded two goals all season and sent six on their last visit to Gorgie.
