Scottish Women’s Football has announced the games for the 2020-21 season restart of the Scottish Women’s Premier League 1.

After an absence of Covid-19 in the fourth month, there are still 14 game rounds to play. The league will resume on April 4th and will end on June 6th.

Following an emergency plan from Covid, the clubs agreed that the season could be shortened for the eight-club division after another game round, if necessary after the 14th round.

Rangers are currently leaders in SWPL 1, and the club will do a double in the men’s and women’s leagues after the former wins the Premiership title on Sunday.

Glasgow City have won the last 13 titles and are hot on the heels of Rangers. Both clubs are in third place with 18 points and two ahead of Celtic.

In search of a first title since its inception in 2008, the Rangers, who beat Glasgow City 5-0 in the last game before the league was suspended, are set to resume the season for bottom club Heart of Midlothian.

Glasgow City travels to K-Park to face Celtic in their first game and the current champions will have two more meetings with the Leading Rangers on May 9th and June 6th on the last day of the season.

Vivienne MacLaren, Chairwoman of Scottish Women’s Football (SWF) said: “After a long hiatus in women’s football, the return of SWPL 1 is a positive step forward.

“I would like to thank all of our SWPL clubs for their support and the various bodies we have worked with to get us to this point. We will continue to work as soon as possible for a safe resumption of girls’ and women’s football.”

“With each season we see growing excitement for the SWPL. Despite the break, there is no doubt more than ever about today’s announcement of the game. This has been the most competitive top division in the history of the Games.”

“Every round of the game has a massive impact on who will be crowned champion and on both places in the 2021/22 UEFA Women’s Champions League. The SWF wishes each club the best and encourages fans to show their support where and how they can . “
