Asmir Begovic insists that Aaron Ramsdale has the opportunity to play for the biggest clubs in the Premier League.

The Sheffield United goalkeeper has been linked with a £ 30m move to the Gunners this summer.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is a huge Ramsdale fan

Despite relegation from the Premier League with the Blades, Ramsdale’s form was good enough to secure him a place in the English squad for Euro 2020 following an injury to Dean Henderson.

Only West Brom’s Sam Johnstone made more saves in season one last season (166) than Ramsdale (147).

And Begovic is backing his former Bournemouth teammate to play in the Premier League for years to come.

The new Everton goalkeeper told talkSPORT: “He can be one of the best, especially in the country.

“He has already proven that he can play at the highest level. He still has a lot of potential to develop.

“The more he plays, the more he will advance. So I’m not surprised that he is associated with some of the top clubs.

“What he has achieved in recent years shows everyone what quality he has.

“With his age where he is, there is potential to become an even better goalkeeper.”

Meanwhile, ex-Man City and England midfielder Trevor Sinclair has criticized Arsenal’s transfer policy.

The Gunners sold Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa last summer for just £ 17million and the goalkeeper made his debut season in the Midlands.

Sinclair told talkSPORT: “I don’t understand. We have already said once that Emi Martinez is going to Villa, why? He played brilliantly for Arsenal.

“They allowed their best goalkeeper to leave and now they’re chasing their tail to get someone to replace them [Bernd] Leno.

“I don’t understand how Arsenal are run as a football club. You should never have gone through this Emi Martinez.

“You should have let them fight for the # 1 jersey and stayed honest. They didn’t and he was great at Villa.

“It would be a great move for Ramsdale. A huge club in Arsenal. It’s a pretty high fee, but when Arsenal players train with him they will see his quality and amplify what Mikel Arteta feels about him. “
