Rhys Fuller, 12, of Bognor Regis, who has cerebral palsy – a lifelong condition that affects movement and coordination – is trying to raise money to support Time4u Activities, a Sussex service that serves many children and young adults with various disabilities helps.
Rhys also has global developmental delay, an umbrella term used when children are significantly delayed in their cognitive and physical development.
A fan of Portsmouth Football Club, which plays in League One, and its local team, Isthmian Premier League team Bognor Regis Town, Rhys will lead the teams when they go to a friendly at Nyewood Lane, Bognor’s stadium Regis Town, July 28th.
Rhys and his mother Amy Standen, 30, hope fans on both sides can help his fundraiser. The goal is to raise £ 7,000 which should be enough money to buy a minibus for Time4u activities.
Amy said, “Rhys is a huge fan of The Rocks and Pompey, and it would be great if backers could donate to help us.
“The children and young adults attending these sessions are cared for so that they can socialize and interact with others in a fun, safe and relaxed environment.
Rhys Fuller, 12, tries to raise funds for Tme4u activities
“This environment enables the families of these children and young adults to enjoy much-needed rest while being confident that their children’s individual needs are being met and exceeded.
“I became aware of this service through the struggles I had with Rhys, who needs personal support in his daily life. It also displays a number of challenging behaviors.
“Despite these challenges, Time4u gave Rhys an extremely positive approach and focus. He looks forward to every meeting and has built strong relationships with others in a relatively short amount of time.
“Although the children at Time4u have had countless great experiences, I would like to collect donations for this great service so that they can buy a minibus with transport for everyone.
Rhys has received help from Time4u for his care and in return wants to do everything possible to help them.
