WITTON Albion had a nightmare afternoon at the newly renamed U Lock It Stadium.

Carl Macauley’s team suffered a 4-1 defeat against fellow campaigners Granthan Town in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.

Harvey Grice and Mason Lee scored an own goal from Nathan Woodthorpe on either side when Witton lost 3-0 in a seven-minute nightmare after half-time.

Callum Saunders brought back a goal for the hosts but Ali Ademir rounded off the goal for the guests.

In 1874 Northwich also had a difficult afternoon in the NPL West Division, slipping to a 5-0 home loss to Bootle in Townfield.

All five goals of the guests fell after the break, Connor Millington scored twice.

Things went much better for Northwich Victoria, who won 2-0 in Runcorn Town.

Winsford United were beaten 2-1 at home by Barnoldswick Town, with Matthew Russell scoring for the Blues.

Barnton lost 3-1 at Cheadle Heath Nomads, with Matthew Waller in goal for the Villagers.
