BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil (Reuters) – A double from Federico Zaracho in the first half helped Atletico Mineiro to a 4-1 win over Atletico-GO in the Brazilian Serie A on Thursday.

Zaracho scored in the 27th and 37th minutes before Ignacio Fernandez added a third goal with a neat counterattack three minutes before the break.

Marlon Freitas returned a goal from a corner for the visitors just before half-time, and that seemed to be it until Fernandez scored his second and Atletico’s fourth one minute after the final whistle.

The win puts Atletico Mineiro in fifth place on the 20-team table with 13 points from eight games. Atletico-GO falls back to 10th place with 10 points from seven games.
