During this time Newcastle will be able to recruit permanent and loan positions as well as freelance agents.

How will Euro 2020 affect the summer transfer window?

The 2020 European Championship will take place during the summer transfer window.

This could of course delay potential transfers of players participating in Euro 2020, especially for Premier League clubs.

In fact, it also gives players the opportunity to impress on the big stage and attract interest from elsewhere.

Will there be a second transfer window similar to last summer?

It has been considered, but there is still no definitive answer.

Last summer, the main summer transfer window closed on October 5th, but deals between Premier League and EFL clubs were allowed until October 16th.

There is currently only one summer transfer window, from Wednesday June 9th to Tuesday August 31st.

When do the Premier League and EFL campaigns start?

The Premier League season starts on the weekend of August 14th. This means that the campaign will run for another two and a half weeks before the transfer window closes.

Meanwhile, the EFL season – Championship, League One and League Two – starts a week earlier on Saturday, August 7th.

What is the summer transfer window dates for the other major European leagues?

The transfer windows in major leagues across Europe such as France, Spain, Germany and Italy will also close on Tuesday, August 31st.

However, your transfer windows will open a few weeks to England on Thursday 1st July.

What about the January transfer window?

The January 2022 transfer window will open on Saturday January 1st and close at 11:59 PM on Monday January 31st.

The January window for La Liga and Serie A opens on January 3rd but also closes on January 31st.
