Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Hoffenheim midfielder Christoph Baumgartner.

The 21-year-old has been considered one of the best talents in Austria for years. His impressive performances in the Bundesliga have attracted a lot of attention from several top clubs across Europe.

Baumgartner only made his senior debut for the German team in May 2019. However, The Sun report that United followed the midfielder closely to bring him to Old Trafford this summer.

The young man has a contract that expires in June 2023 and his current price is estimated at around £ 16m, although that number is expected to increase.

Hoffenheim has a history of good value for money on player sales such as £ 29m for Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino and £ 40m for Joelinton from Newcastle United.

Baumgartner has played 25 games in all competitions for the German club this season, scored five goals and provided seven assists.

Real Madrid playmaker Martin Odegaard reportedly completed his medical training with Arsenal before being loaned to the Emirates Stadium.

The Norway international got the green light to go on loan after battling for game time under Zinedine Zidane and Arsenal appear to have won the race for his signature.

Odegaard was linked to a temporary move to Real Sociedad in the January transfer window, but Sky Sports News now reports that he took out medical treatment with Arsenal prior to a six-month loan deal.

The deal is believed not to include an option to buy as Real Madrid bosses believe he will do well in the Spanish capital at some point.

The 22-year-old’s arrival in north London should be announced within the next 24 hours. Arsenal will face Southampton in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

The Gunners were looking for a new creative player after canceling Mesut Ozil’s contract – who has now joined Fenerbahce – and Mikel Arteta’s side are reportedly still interested in a summer deal for Norwich City’s Emiliano Buendia.
