The league asked all clubs for their opinion, but it was decided to hold a round robin tournament for the clubs interested.

League Secretary Chris Bridges said: “After the acquisition of all 64 clubs within the WSFL, only 48% were positive about the end of the season in June.

“The committee has therefore decided to cancel the 2020/2021 season with immediate effect.

“In his place, we intend to organize a round robin tournament for those clubs that would like to take part in games between mid-April and mid-May in accordance with the Covid protocols in effect at that time.

“It is our intention to start the 2021/2022 season as usual in August.”
