Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End won’t have to wait long to hear their upcoming campaign schedule.

Last week the Premier League games for 2021/22 were released – and in a few days it will be the turn of the championship and the rest of the English Football League.

The day the schedule is released is always anticipation as fans look forward to writing appointments in their diaries – and they hope to be able to attend the games in person next semester after both North End and Rovers have more than A year has passed playing behind closed doors at Deepdale and Ewood Park.

The championship games will take place on Thursday, June 24th at 9 a.m.

There will be clashes with Fulham, West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United, all of whom were relegated from the Premier League, while Hull City, Peterborough United and local rivals Blackpool were promoted from the Premier League.

Other important dates for the next season are:

Season Start Date – Saturday August 7th (with a live televised game expected on Friday August 6th)

Carabao Cup round one – week starting August 9th

Carabao Cup Final – Sunday, February 27, 2022

Final day of the regular season (championship) – weekend in May ⅞, 2022

Championship play-off final – Sunday 29 May 2022
