Reading will hear their schedule for the 2021/22 championship next week.

Veljko Paunovic’s team already know the campaign will begin on the first full weekend in August, while the first round of the Carabao Cup is scheduled for later this week.

Hopefully as many fans as possible will be allowed on the grounds by the new season and hardly allowed in last year due to the coronavirus.

On Boxing Day, as well as around New Year’s Eve and the Easter weekend, there will be a game as usual.

The big date for Reading fans to remember is Thursday, June 24th.

The fixtures will be released punctually at 9:00 am and we will have a full breakdown of all 46 for reading plus reaction.

The six new teams entering the division this time around are Fulham, West Brom and Sheffield United, who have been relegated from the Premier League, and Hull City, Peterborough United and Blackpool, who have been promoted from the Premier League.

The Royals are hoping to get one better than last season when they finished seventh overall and just outside the play-offs for the last couple of weeks.

The Serb is hoping for a similar scenario to increase Reading’s chances of success.

In preparation for the new campaign, the club has already announced friendly matches with West Ham United and Charlton Athletic at the Madejski Stadium.
